Tony Buzan's The Mind Map Book is pretty detailed, but I learned a lot from it. I use it for myself as I'm a grad student, but I also use it with my students (as I'm also a teacher) with much success. Here's a link to his site: http://www.buzanworld.com/Mind_Maps.htm
If you're a visual learner, this is a great tool.

I find it useful to focus on what the muscle does. If you think about what it does while looking at where it is located, the origins & insertions start to make more sense. Once it makes sense then it is a question of remembering the specifics. I posted some slide shows on the Snow College page which might be helpful to click through.

No, no. I said "inexpensive," not "expensive." My favorite one (by Wynn and Kapit) is only about $15. http://www.amazon.com/Anatomy-Coloring-Book-Wynn-Kapit/dp/0805350861/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1250389472&sr=1-1
A lot cheaper than a textbook!

U.S. Life Expectancy Rises to Record Level

Babies born in 2006 have a record life expectancy of 77.7 years, up from 77.4 years in 2005, the report shows. The CDC chalks that up to a decline in deaths from heart disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory diseases, and stroke.
Even though life expectancy is at an all-time high, the 2006 life expectancy figure is a bit lower than what the CDC predicted last year, based on preliminary estimates.
Race and gender gaps in life expectancy persisted in 2006.
"White females continued to have the highest life expectancy at birth (80.6 years), followed by black females (76.5 years), white males (75.7 years), and black males (69.7 years)," states the CDC report.
Go to this website to find out more about this! Good news!!!! 77 is getting up there!

What I find interesting is that the upper age limits have not really changed much over the centuries. We have few people living to older than 100 now, and in earlier times when the life expectancy was much lower on average they sometimes had people living past 100. A geneticist named Aubrey de Grey thinks that we can eliminate aging and live for hundreds of years. See his reasons at this talk: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/aubrey_de_grey_says_we_can_avoid_aging.html

I lost the weight after child #1 MUCH faster than child #2! For me, breast feeding helped and just being consumed with the demands of a newborn kept me too busy to eat! Getting a gym membership was my saving grace! I obviously needed the exercise, but I also needed some "me" time!

So I always drink these Green Tea packets and have had a lot of people ask me about them. Well let me just say I love them. Not only is green tea great for your body but it also helps with weight loss. I started drinking them last november and had lost 20 pounds by January. I dont eat to bad and work out about 3-4 days a week. I didnt change my diet it just helped me loose that extra weight. It gives you more energy, and also helps your skin! If you have any questions or want to know were to get them let me know :)

Ok guys lets really get things going on our discussions and make them intersting lets try to get a little bit of a debate going. The goverment has a well thought out welfare program and offers medicaid and medicare to those who qualify. Well the government requires so many aspects to being able to qualify. such as you can only make up to a certain amount of money each month. some families even hide how much they make to qualify for help. there are jobs out there and people are staying home and letting the goverment be there source of income. Families with 8 kids and a house payment of 1500 and ultities and the other bills it all adds up very quickly are denied. Families that drive brand new cars and don't work at all or partime are the ones that seem to be qualifying for it. Should something be changed or does this seem fair??

I agree on people abusing the system and not working hard for what they get but for me I never thought I would have to use medicaid or anything until I recently got pregnant. I do have 90% insurance but knew that I couldnt afford the other 10% doctor bills especially if something were to go wrong with the pregnancy or baby. I believe they defiantely need to step up the requirements and not just solely base it off how much money you make but if your in school, have other kids, bills, ect... not just if your too lazy to get a job! I defiantely have gotten some looks when I turn in my medicaid card to the dr.'s office even though it's only paying a small portion of my bills.. I guess I go both ways on the subject but do agree with most ppl and how others are ruining our system by abusing it!

I believe its called transgender. Nothing to do with gay. Itsa woment that wanted to be a guy, and never got rid of all the female parts. SO therefore still had the plumbing that can allow for a fetus to grow.

This page will not allow me to save any additions...but this is what i tried to add...
The main hormone involved with these uterus contractions is called oxytocin. It is primarily involved with the Letdown Reflex, which is the secretion of milk. Breast milk has different components that contribute to immunological benefits including secretory immunoglobins, T-cell products, carrier proteins, histocompatibility antigens, and enzymes (including leukocyte enzymes.) Other benefits for the baby include nutritional, cognitive, and socioeconomic benefits. There is also an associated lower risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
There are also benefits for the mother including hormonal, physical, and psychological benefits. Breastfeeding also stimulates a hormone that increases infertility, but it is not as effective as other birth control methods. Many women who breastfeed return to prepregnancy weight faster than those who do not breastfeed.
The 3 stages of lactogenesis:
1.) Lactogenesis 1 -Milk begins to form. Lactose and protein content increases. Suckling is not necessary for milk production during this stage.
2.) Lactogenesis 2 -Begins 2-5 days later. There is increased blood flow to the mammary gland.
3.) Lactogenesis 3 -Begins about 10 days after birth. During this stage, milk production becomes stable.
