Does anyone have a web site reference that provides printable diagrams that allow you to practice labeling Anatomy organs, etc. for test preparation?
I have found several, yet their remedial level. Thank you.

Education is not the piling on of learning, information, data, facts, skills, or abilities--that's training or instruction--but is rather a making visible what is hidden as a seed...
To be educated, a person doesn't have to know much or be informed, but he or she does have to have been exposed vulnerably to the transformative events of an engaged human life... One of the greatest problems of our time is that many are schooled but few are educated. --- Thomas Moore

Good afternoon all,
Although I realize the purpose of a wiki is that everyone can contribute, the Samford students are working on their wiki pages as part of a grade. So, please refrain (until 15 May) from editing, deleting, or moving any material placed on the wiki by my students. After the semester is over, you can edit our pages to your heart's content. Thanks ! KBakkegard

There has been some confusion over what I expect. That is understandable because I don't have clearly defined expectations with this project--partly I want you to just surprise me! Here is what I put in the syllabus [with new comments in brackets]:
a. Joining the wiki (5 pts), creating a profile (10 pts) and joining a group (10 pts) in the first week: 25 points. [basically I want people to not wait several weeks to get started] b. Editing a study page on the wiki: 65 points. This is group work, and each group member will report what percentage of the group points they think each person earned. In other words, the page will be graded for the entire group, and what percentage of that grade you get depends on how well you participated with your group. 1) Well organized layout with good spelling and grammar: 20 pts 2) Good supplemental images and videos: 10 pts 3) Links to relevant news articles with short descriptions of the articles: 10 pts 4) Quality of review questions: 15 pts 5) Quality of information: 15 pts 6) BONUS: Good case study: 10 pts CLARIFICATIONS: You do not need to create a new page. You can simply improve upon an existing page. If you want to create a new page (or a new sub page) you may. You can choose a special topic if you wish, but most people will sign up on the 2009 Groups page. Ask any questions you have and I will answer them here or tell you where to look for answers. "How to" questions are also welcome. |

I am a 6th grade teacher... How did you get your page header to have custom text font and also an image placed to the right. My settings options seem to only allow for either the default text or an image that snaps to the right and replaces the text.
I PROMISE, I will never bother you with a repeated question, none of us have time for that! Your site is just so great looking! Thanks, Have a great weekend! Brian Finan Wichita Collegiate School Wichita KS

I received an e-mail from my family and wanted to share the information.
This email is true, but outdated; it orgininated in 2000. Since then, most of these drugs have been reformulated, removing Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), but it's not a bad idea to check the label just in case. To learn more go to these links: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Urban-Legends-3056/Recall-Phenylpropanolamine.htm http://www.snopes.com/toxins/ppa.htm I received this information from someone whose mother recently passed away. Apparently, this was caused by a medication that is deadly. Here are the details, and I suggest you pass it on to your loved ones and others. Subject: Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) I would like to thank those of you who expressed condolences on the recent passing of my mother. She suffered a hemorrhagic stroke while she was driving home from my house on July 30th and passed away on August 3rd. My mother's stroke and passing was an enormous shock to my family, because she did not have any symptoms or risk factors for a stroke. Just the week before she had gone to her doctor for a check up and received a clean bill of health. She did, however, develop a cold while she was visiting me and had taken Alka Seltzer Cold Plus for 3 days. Since her passing, we have learned that Alka Seltzer is one of the many cold medicines that contains Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), which can cause hemorrhagic stokes or cerebral bleeding, even with the first use. I am forwarding a list of other medications that currently use PPA. These medicines are supposedly being recalled but my mother just purchased this medication less than two weeks ago. Pharmaceutical companies have known about this danger for years, we unfortunately, did not. I urge you to review the list of medicines with PPA and avoid these medications. All drugs containing PHENYLPROPANOLAMINE are dangerous. I will include a list in the next thread.
