vitamin D
Jan 8 2009, 1:03 AM EST
I know that the sun supplies our bodies with vitamin D after reading through this I am a little confused and would like to know what happens if we get to much vitamin D on our skin is that possibly when we start to feel sick when we have been in the heat to long?

Your body cannot produce too much Vitamin D. It will produce as much as it needs for the day and any extra time in the sun won't make more Vit D--you cannot store it for very long.Being in the heat too long can make you feel sick from dehydration or overheating--NOT from Vit. D. Most people are Vit D deficient (especially in northern climates, and especially in the winter). I know I should be taking cod-liver oil or some other supplement, but I am too forgetful! 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

They started adding Vitamin D to milk because we don't have enough in our diet.
